Juicy Steak and Garlic Mashed Potato Dinner
This gourmet meal will take you less that 35 minutes to make and is my absolute favorite when I'm craving a juicy steak! Please keep in mind that for this recipe, we used New York Strip, however, you are able to use any cut you would prefer. I hope you enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 1 Jar of SteakHouse blend
- 2 Lbs New York Strip Steak or (2 Steaks)
- 2 Large yellow potatoes
- 1 Tablespoon coarse salt
- 4 Tablespoons softened butter
- 1/3 Cup of milk
- 2 Teaspoons garlic paste
- 1 Teaspoon Parsley
- 3 Cups water
Preparations:
Preheat oven to 375 Degrees.
Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Just before cooking, season each steak with 2 tablespoons of SteakHouse Blend and 1 tablespoon coarse salt.
Heat your skillet until hot and add 2 tablespoons of butter, swirling to coat. Once the pan is very hot, place steaks in the pan cooking on the first side for 2 minutes, then flip and cook on the other side for 2 minutes. Once both sides has formed a brown crust, place the skillet in the oven for 10 minutes. (Make sure your skillet is oven safe)
In a medium sized pot, pour in 3 cups of water and turn fire on high heat until your water comes to a complete boil. Take your potatoes and wash thoroughly cleaning off any dirt or hard particles. Quarter your potatoes (cut into four) and then cut them into cubes. Place potatoes into water and boil until tender but firm. (about 15 minutes)
Once your steak is done cooking, place on a cutting board and let it rest before cutting.
Drain the water from potatoes leaving about 1 tablespoon of water left into the pot. Mix in the rest of the softened butter, garlic paste, milk, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Be sure to not over mix, leave a few chucks of potatoes for texture and depth.
Enjoy with your choice with vegetables and your favorite glass of wine!
